Illulu
ARE YOU READY TO BE FREE?
ILLULUIIllulu is an expression of freedom. It is an aspiration for all human beings, and ultimately all life. I cannot be free until you are free.
The Amazigh People of the desert lands of northern Africa define their community based on two simple criteria, do you share our language and do you share our values? Their values are self-respect, honour, generousity, courage, honesty, and service. Their credo is that by actively living these values an individual may attain personal freedom, and so help attain the freedom of all. Do we speak the same language and do we share the same values? Can we communicate and do we share the same view of life? |
FreeDOM
Illulu is a very different concept of freedom from the western one.
Many have been taught that freedom is the ability to operate exclusively, without limitations. To do whatever we want, when we want to, how we want to. This is a very insular and selfish concept of freedom, which underlies a great deal of the unhappiness that many so many of us experience in our daily lives, in which we compare and compete with each other, and end up isolated from those around us, from the world in which we live, even from ourselves.
The accepted view of freedom is impoverished and incomplete, which traps us into a jail of our own making.
Illulu is a more inclusive concept, in which we grow and expand through caring for and nurturing ourselves and each other.
